About Tracy
Tracy O’Connor Clark received her BA in Fashion Design from Radford University in 1987. From there she worked extensively in retail, retail management, and even developed her own line of aerobic wear. After marrying and having three little girls, whom she raises, Tracy decided she wanted to get back into design.
Her oldest daughter, 8 at the time, inspired her latest creation. The tab had broken off of her zipper on her brand new coat. She was quite distressed about it, so trying to calm her daughter, Tracy suggested she would somehow fix it by putting something fun and fashionable in place of the missing tab. That was the inception of “Zipper Grips.”
Tracy wanted the Zipper Grips to be stylishly functional, so they would appeal to all markets (age groups).
Tracy’s entire Zipper Grip line (zipper pulls, pendants and earrings) is cloisonné. Which means they are all hand painted with enamel, each color is separated by a piece of flattened brass placed edgeways on a metal backing.
